Supplies Needed

CMSAC is currently in need of supplies for clients, including: cloth bags, shampoo (regular size preferred), deodorant, tampons, and body wash. When basic necessities are not met, survivors will remain in crisis mode.

If you’re interested in helping survivors of sexual violence, contact CMSAC at 320-251-4357.

Consent

Unfortunately, too many men still believe that a lack of consent is what women want, because our society still teaches boys that every day. Consent is vital in establishing healthy, trusting relationships.

Here are 7 reasons why so many men don’t understand sexual consent: http://www.cracked.com/blog/how-men-are-trained-to-think-sexual-assault-no-big-deal/

Dakota Access Pipeline

Since the oil boom, tribal communities have reported doubling and tripling in calls for sexual assault and domestic violence. The Dakota Access Pipeline is not helping.

1 in 3 Native women are raped, stalked, or abused every year. 9 out of 10 perpetrators are non-Native. Because of a 1978 Supreme Court ruling, Native Nations cannot prosecute non-Natives who commit crimes of sexual violence on their land.

#GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is 21 days away! Last year, celebrities such as Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen DeGeneres donated to #GivingTuesday to give back to causes they’re passionate about.

On 11/29, consider donating to CMSAC to give directly to survivors of sexual violence. Can’t wait? Donate here: https://www.givemn.org/organization/Central-Minnesota-Sexual-Assault-Center
