HOLIDAY VENDOR FAIR!

Central MN Sexual Assault Center will be hosting a Holiday Vendor Fair on Saturday, December 7 at Center Square Mall (outside Herberger’s), 601 1st St. S. St. Cloud, MN  56301 from 8:00 am-4:00 pm.  Featured vendors include: Wildtree, Young Living, Tastefully Simple, Norwex, Cabi Clothing, Beauticontrol, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Crafts, Jewelry and more!

Breaking Free Speaker Coming to SCSU!

    Minnesota: 13th largest center for child sex trafficking in the entire U.S.

    Breaking Free is an anti-sex trafficking/prostitution organization located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Joy Friedman, an advocate at Breaking Free, will share her personal testimony of surviving 27 years of being trafficked into prostitution. She will also talk about local trafficking, effects of legalization of prostitution, connections to pornography, and answer questions.

    SATS will sponsor an item drive! Please bring items for Breaking Free’s Outreach to help locally trafficked/prostituted women.

    This event is FREE, so instead please donate TRAVEL-SIZED… toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant. Also hats, mittens, gloves, socks, hairbrushes, underwear, and gift cards to McDonald’s, Burger King, or Wendy’s.

    Thank you for your support. This event is open to the public. Located on the 2nd floor in St. Cloud State University’s Atwood Memorial Center in the CASCADE room.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19TH FROM NOON UNTIL 2PM: PROMISE NEIGHBORHOOD WILL BE HOSTING A COMMUNITY LISTENING SESSION TO HEAR COMMUNITY CONCERNS, IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS ABOUT CURRENT PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO HEAR SUGGESTIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY ABOUT FUTURE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. LIGHT LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED. THIS EVENT IS BEING COORDINATED BY THE WOMENS GROUP AND THE COMMUNITY ADVISORY GROUP.

 

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24TH FROM 530 UNTIL 730: PROMISE NEIGHBORHOOD WOMEN’S GROUP AND FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM WILL BE CO-HOSTING A WORKSHOP ON TIPS FOR SHOPPING AND HEALTHY EATING WITH THE MINNESOTA EXTENSION. DINNER AND CHILD CARE WILL BE PROVIDED. PLEASE RSVP BEFORE 2PM ON WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 23

New Women’s Group Starting Soon!

Women’s Sexual Violence Recovery – Central MN Sexual Assault Center staff will be starting a 12 session   psycho-educational shame-resilience group on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 3:00 pm-4:30 pm at 15 Riverside Drive NE, St. Cloud, MN  56304.  This group will be an open group and will be every Thursday, please fill out a support group intake form, see support group  page on website, http://www.cmsac.org, or call and have staff send you a hard copy of the form.  Intake form will need to be filled out and sent in prior to joining group!

On Thursday, Oct. 17 from 4 pm-8 pm, 10% of all food orders at Five Guys Burgers and Fries will go to Central MN Sexual Assault Center to provide services to victims of sexual assault.  Mention that you are there for the Sexual Assault Center fundraiser to show your support!
