Central MN Sexual Assault Center

Central MN Sexual Assault Center
Today our team participated in Denim Day. Denim Day is held on the last Wednesday in April, during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Peace Over Violence organization established the Denim Day campaign in 1999. Denim Day campaign was developed in response to the Italian Supreme Court ruling overturning a rape conviction. The survivor in the case was blamed for being raped, because she was wearing denim skinny jeans. During trial it was argued that she had to have helped take them off. We wear denim to raise awareness, educate, show our support to survivors, and combat victim-blaming!👖💙 Thank you all SO much for joining us on our Walk Together Uniting Against Trafficking event. Everyone played a major role in making the event successful. Thank you to our partners, sponsors, community members, volunteers, and staff. Thank you for making an impact on victims and survivors of trafficking and exploitation 🌟💟 💙There is no right way to respond to sexual violence. Assuming that someone experiencing violence can or should act a certain way is victim-blaming. Dear Survivor—Whatever you choose, know that you deserve Dear male survivors, we believe you. We understand the barriers, stigma, and misconceptions male survivors face in their healing journey. Sexual assault can happen to anyone of any gender. CMSAC provides a safe, trauma-informed environment for all ages and genders. Please reach out for support, our services are for you 320-251-4357. We are thankful for another year of partnering with Korppi for A Cup of Prevention. April is Sexual Assault Awareness month, and today a portion of drink sales will be donated to victim/survivors that we serve. These messages can shape our values and create norms around consent, relationships, sexuality, gender, violence, and more. This is why we need to think critically about the content we consume and how we consume it. Swipe for
