Human trafficking is modern day slavery. It is the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel another person to provide labor or commercial sex against their will, and it is one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises in the world. According to statistics put out by the Polaris Project 27 million are enslaved globally. There are things that we can all do to help end Human Trafficking; Women, Girls, Men, and Boys need to work together to end Human Trafficking. These are some of ten suggestions that Men and Boys can do to stop Human Trafficking: 3. Stop patronizing strip clubs: this is often not seen by men as women being coerced into this line of work because that would conflict with the pleasure that they are seeking. 4. Don’t Consume Pornography: this has the power to manipulate male sexuality and eroticize the violence against women. 7. Talk to men and boys about men’s issues in male spaces: this gives a chance to utilize barber shops, locker rooms, and fraternities for education on how men should interact with women. Be available whenever men or boys have questions about anything. 10. Raise sons and mentor boys to challenge oppression: this will raise boys to be accountable, respectful, and protective of all women and children. 9. Support creation of “John Schools:” these are education programs designed to educate customers apprehended by law enforcement who attempted to purchase sex.
