At tomorrow evening’s Concerned Persons’ Support Group we will be discussing how our language and word choices impact the survivors we care about. The way topics are discussed impacts the attitudes around those topics, and sexual violence is no different. We’ll address how word choice matters, and how asking certain kinds of questions can further isolate and shame victims. We’ll explore how just shifting the way we talk about the issue of sexual violence can show compassion and support.
We invite you to come, challenge some beliefs and myths, ask questions, and process through your own experiences in your quest to support a loved one.
